This delicate and elegant Piedmont wine is produced in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba in the province of Cuneo, in the heart of Piedmont in Italy. This wine brings together four of the most prestigious varietals from the Barolo production area, keeping Nebbiolo as the common denominator. Since its 1996 introduction, Quatr Nas has managed to achieve an innovative blend of Nebbiolo, Pinot Nero, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot - fermentation takes place over a period of two weeks with the skins, then aged 24 months in oak barrels, and further aged for 6 months in bottle before release. The resulting wine has an intense ruby red colour, noble and elegant, the nose reveals fine floral notes of dried rose, violets and almond blossoms. On the palate, it is a wine with an assertive elegance whose delicate nature can best be appreciated through a web of dense, silky tannins as well as a nice acidity, guaranteeing great ageing potential. It is a wine that can be cellared for another 15 to 20 years without affecting its superb character.
