Sauvignon Alto Adige D.O.C. 75cl (2018) KETTMEIR

This very old grape variety was introduced to Alto Adige from France at the end of the nineteenth century and has since become one of the region's leading varieties, enjoying growing popularity throughout the world. The vines grow best at medium elevations (up to 600m above sea level), preferably on the region's lime gravel soils. This example by Kettmeir undergoes just a brief maceration in order to optimize the extraction of the varietal's natural aromatic compounds. The pale straw yellow hue is a prelude to an intense bouquet with distinct notes of nettle, elderflower and apricot. In the mouth it is fresh, persistent and flavoursome, best paired with vegetable soups, baked fish and other light vegetable dishes.
