Crafted in the traditional style of Turin aperitifs, this ruby-red aperitivo blends fresh and dried aromatic herbs such as artemisia and gentian root to create a distinguished amaro dolce (sweet herbal liqueur) profile. At its heart, gentian root and bitter orange peel define the classic ‘Americano’ style, inspired by the authentic 1897 ‘Bitter di Milano’. The recipe is enriched with orange, cinnamon, rhubarb, cassia wood, and cascarilla.
Its southern Italian character is elevated with Marsala wine, rested for fourteen months in oak barrels. The result is a medium-bodied aperitivo with vibrant citrus, warm spices, and herbal undertones. It pairs beautifully with Mediterranean appetisers, grilled seafood, marinated olives, charcuterie, or mild cheeses, and also shines in cocktails: over ice with an orange slice, in a sparkling spritz, or as a refined Negroni twist.
