History and Generations

In the heart of the Valdobbiadene D.O.C.G. territory, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2019, lies the family-run winery, Andreola. Valdobbiadene is the birthplace of Prosecco, where the rich history of winemaking and the ideal conditions for cultivating Glera in the hills of Valdobbiadene and Conegliano come together.

Andreola, founded by Nazzareno Pola in 1984, stands as a testament to the transformation of this renewed land over the years. Today, Stefano Pola carries forward his father’s legacy with a commitment to preserving the essence of the vine, manual labour, and acting as one of the frontrunners in applying “heroic viticulture.”

Innovation Meets Terroir

At Andreola, innovation marries the land’s deep history: ancient methods and cutting-edge technology, creates wines that is testament of the fusion of passion and reason. Their mission is to enhance the palate, elevate fruity aromas, and craft wines that perfectly embodies harmony with elegance.

Sustainable Artistry

Andreola embrace sustainability: they use organic farming, minimise waste, and are committed to reducing carbon emissions, making them a hit with eco-conscious wine lovers.

The Glera Grape Variety

Primarily utilising the Glera grape variety, Andreola thrives in the well-drained, steep slopes of Valdobbiadene, where inclinations can reach up to 70 degrees! This varietal, cherished for centuries, has shaped the charming landscape.

Stefano Pola fondly remembers his father’s tales of the land, stories of how the glaciers shaped these slopes, and how the Glera grape fell in love with this terroir. He vividly recalls childhood days spent among the vines, listening to his father’s stories of the terroir’s secrets and the vine’s resilient spirit.

A Land of Unique Microzones

The Valdobbiadene hills, shaped by ancient glaciers, offer a variety of exposures, altitudes, and soils. These differences create unique microzones, giving birth to wines like Rive and Cartizze, each with its distinct qualities.

The Wines of Alivini

While Prosecco is widely used globally, Andreola stands out by not using the generic term “Prosecco,” but focusing on the established Valdobbiadene region and brand.

Alivini proudly presents two exceptional Andreola wines:

Dirupo Prosecco Superiore Valdobbiadene D.O.C.G. Brut – 75cl or 37.5cl

This wine showcases a clear straw yellow hue and a fine, lingering perlage. Using grapes from nine different areas within the Valdobbiadene area, this wine truly is an Ambassador for the Valdobbiadene DOCG area! It captivates the senses with notes of hawthorn, acacia blossoms, delicate citrus, and subtle spices. On the palate, it’s generous, energetic, yet delicately rounded. This was the first wine from the Andreola production to receive the prestigious “Tre Bicchieri” award from Gambero Rosso.

26° I° Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G. Rive di Col San Martino Extra Brut – 75cl

Named after the coordinates of its origin, the Valdobbiadene DOCG Rive di Col San Martino Extra Brut perfectly reflects Andreola’s core values.

The grapes for 26° 1° come exclusively from the original estate, spanning four hectares of steep slopes at elevations between 300 and 500 meters.

This Extra Brut wine derives its complexity from soil enriched by the ancient Bianco stream. It presents a deep straw yellow colour with a lively perlage and offers an intense bouquet of hawthorn, citrus, apples, and peaches. Its balanced sapidity and subtle fruity notes earned it a Double Gold Medal at the Gilbert & Gaillard International Challenge 2023, making it a versatile delight.

A Journey Beyond Wine: A Tale of Collaboration

In every bottle of Andreola’s wine, you find a piece of their history, a fragment of their love for Valdobbiadene, and a sip of their enduring passion. It’s a story that transcends time, embraces terroir, and captures the magic of “heroic viticulture”.

Cheers to the Pola family’s journey and their enchanting wines.
