Only Cabernet Sauvignon grapes harvested from vines planted on iron-rich clay and sandy soils in the Alghero region are used to make this impressively rich, yet mellow red. Maturity is engrained into the wine from 18 months ageing in small French oak barrels, followed by another year spent in the traditional large casks plus 18 months in the bottle. This 2008 vintage has a dark ruby red colour and a remarkable nose of blackcurrant with cedar wood, leather and cocoa, mixed with balsamic notes. On the palate it presents great tannins and good freshness supported by a warm and harmonious softness plus exquisite length on the finish.
