Pinot Nero Alto Adige D.O.C. 75cl (2023) KETTMEIR

Pinot Nero has been grown in Alto Adige since the mid-nineteenth century. When grown in vineyards of medium elevation that are not too dry, this variety reveals its full potential, yielding well-structured wines that are often amazingly close to their Burgundian counterparts. This wine by Kettmeir has a typical ruby red appearance with elegant notes of red berry fruit, with a soft, tempting palate with a delicate aftertaste. Pair with savoury first courses with speck, red meat main courses, and medium aged cheeses. Having matured in wooden casks for 4-6 months, this wine can age in the bottle for 5-6 years if stored correctly.
