Sauvignon D.O.C. Friuli Isonzo (2023) 75cl CASTELLO DI SPESSA

This elegant wine comes from vineyards planted in 2008 in Cormons, where the clayey-sandy soil with gravel provides ideal growing conditions. The 2023 vintage saw a rainy year with balanced September weather, leading to a late August harvest. After soft pressing, the grapes were fermented at controlled temperatures in stainless steel, followed by ageing on noble lees until March. Displaying a straw yellow colour with green highlights, this wine offers fine aromas of apricot, tropical fruits, and tomato leaf. The palate is rich, with a long, refined finish. Best enjoyed at 10-12°C, it pairs beautifully with seafood dishes, herb risotto, and pasta with prawns.
