Barbaresco DOCG Vanotu is named after Giovanni, Giorgio Pelissero’s grandfather and the vineyard’s previous owner, reflecting the deep familial respect for this site. The Cascina Vanotu spans the Barbaresco districts of Treiso, Barbaresco, and Neive, with Nebbiolo vines planted in 1964 at a density of 4,000 plants per hectare. Produced through modern winemaking techniques that preserve Nebbiolo’s varietal purity, this wine is aged for 20–22 months in barriques (80% new) and 9 months in bottle, resulting in a concentrated, fruit-forward profile with soft tannic complexity. Its intense ruby colour introduces aromas of raspberry, cherry, and vanilla, harmonised with herbal and floral notes such as sage, mint, thyme, and camomile—hallmarks of this unique terroir. On the palate, it is velvety and ample, with sweet, persistent tannins and a well-balanced structure, ensuring exceptional ageing potential.
