Criseo Bolgheri D.O.C. 75cl (2021) PODERE GUADO AL MELO

This story started with a single small special vineyard, a place of forgotten ancient white wines, with the sensibility of a craft winemaker. Criseo, meaning "made of gold", is a field-blend: Campo Bianco is harvested in one step and the grapes are co-fermented, as per tradition. They are harvested at optimal ripeness in the coolest hours of the morning, de-stemmed and gently pressed, cleaned and left overnight. The wine is aged on the lees after fermentation for about 1 year in steel tanks before a further year of bottle refinement. The result is a complex and elegant white wine of medium-long life, rich of aromas, well balanced, fresh, full-bodied, sapid and elegant, with very long finish. It is suggested to leave for at least 30 mins after uncorking and will continue to evolve as it oxygenates. Best paired with strong flavoured fish dishes, white meats, vegetables or semi-mature cheeses.
