In the middle ages, castles typically had woods nearby for nobility to hunt and frolick in, known as a “Tapada.” This is a good red that reflects the maturity of Alentejo wines. Composed from three grape varieties, carefully selected from the vineyards in the Perdigões Mount, it is the perfect option for those who want to enjoy an elegant wine paired with an inspiring meal. The batches are vinified separately in tanks made from marble of Alentejo to maximise the extraction of aromas, colour and structure, together with long maceration. The wine is then matured for six months in French Allier oak barrels, followed by six months in the bottle. Its colour is garnet with violet reflections, the bouquet presents aromas of black ripe fruit and spices, and it is silky, fresh and mature on the palate, with soft tannins and good acidity. Best served with grilled red meats, lamb and mature cheeses.
